Dustin becomes more socially confident and stops overthinking

Case Study Summary

Dustin, a counselor and coach in the mental health space, came to coaching to build confidence, sharpen his social skills, and stay accountable. The biggest shift was learning to quiet overthinking, trust simple frameworks, and take action without second-guessing himself.

Whether it was big events like a wedding and a bachelor party or everyday interactions, Dustin walked away with tools he still uses regularly. He calls coaching a valuable investment, highlighting the support, accountability, and practical strategies that made a lasting impact.

My name's Dustin. I'm a counselor and a coach working in the mental health space.

What was the biggest reason you wanted coaching? What did you hope to learn?

Yeah, I was hoping to up my game, build some confidence, learn some new skills from a social interaction standpoint, and have the support of you to keep me accountable and keep me on track with things.

What would you say is the most important thing you learned with coaching?

Yeah, it's hard to narrow it down to just one thing. There were so many pieces, but I appreciated some of the frameworks that we worked through. It's just given me a solid foundation. And some of the other pieces that really stood out was if I'm in certain situations, I don't have to think about what to say or how to approach it. I just take action. So for me, that was one of the biggest pieces because often I will get in my head and overthink about things, but the coaching really provided me that confidence to just start the conversation, to build that momentum. And I've really leaned into that.

I love it. That's awesome. Yeah, the more you overthink, you're going to have a bad time if you're overthinking. So the less overthinking you do, typically the better off you are. If you would talk a little bit about how life is different after coaching, what sort of wins can you share with us?

Yeah, I mean, there's so many. I originally signed up for the program, I had a couple big social events in mind that I was prepping for, a wedding and then a social get together with a group of guys that I don't know. So I was really prepping for those pieces. So having both of those be a smashing success, I would definitely consider a big wins, but then there's so many smaller wins as well of just this confidence in knowing what to say and being comfortable and putting myself out there on a more of a regular basis, that's something that has stuck with me since starting the program and since finishing it as well.

I love it. I remember when we first started our work together, a big thing was the bachelor party that you were going to go on. I just remember you having a good experience at that event. I remember you having a lot of wins and I felt so proud to play a part in that, but I felt even more happy for you to sort of have the experience that you wanted to have.

Yeah, no, it was amazing. And to be able to use the tools and the strategies in like a real life situation was, yeah, it was incredible.

What would you tell someone who is considering getting Private Coaching from me?

Yeah, don't think twice about it. Sign up and do it right away. I was so glad that I did.

And not only is the content that we go through incredibly deep, very valuable, very rich, having your support and your accountability in between sessions was huge.

And also thinking about anytime I had a win, excited to come back and share that with you. And then also anytime that I maybe had a challenge with something in the moment, knowing that I could come back with you, we could debrief, we could talk about what went right, what to do the next time. So if anyone is thinking about it, definitely invest in yourself because it was paid a huge return for me.

Connect with anyone, tell stories that captivate, and feel like you truly belong. No awkwardness, no overthinking, just you at your best.
