YOU ARE...
THE THINKER

Based on your answers, you are The Thinker.
This communication style is very analytical and geared toward problem-solving.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE THINKER:
β
Methodical and detail-oriented, Thinkers are usually slow decision-makers who are very deliberate about the choices they make.
β
Before taking a specific route, they do their homework by weighing pros and cons and looking at problems from every angle.
β
Their high expectations of others and themselves can make them come across as overly critical and pessimistic.
β
They are perfectionists by nature and can easily fall into the trap of "analysis paralysis."
β
Since they tend to be skeptical, they usually want to see promises in writing.
HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH A THINKER:
β
- Go slow and give them time and space to think things through.
- Be well-prepared to answer their questions thoroughly with precise data.
- Put everything down in writing.
- Make good on your promises.
- Give them detailed pros and cons to help them make the right decision.
HOW TO COMMUNICATE AS THINKER:
β
- Realize that you are more thorough than most people, so you may not need to provide as many details as you think.
- You may have a natural tendency to be critical, so be sure to communicate what you like about and idea or situation before providing criticism.
- Most people operate off of emotion and feeling. When you communicate, be sure to speak to how something feels, not just the cold pros and cons.
SPECIFIC PEOPLE SKILLS TO WORK ON FOR A THINKER:
β
- Being empathetic. Not everything can be solved in a spreadsheet. Sometimes you just have to let people vent and NOT provide solutions.
- Taking quick social action. Avoid "analysis paralysis" by getting 70% of the information you think you need, then taking rapid action.
- Give people less detail. When telling a story or explaining something, you typically don't need to give a bunch of details. This will help others stay engaged with you.
- Resist the urge to correct people. They may be technically wrong, but correcting them will typically not change their mind.
- Work on giving positive feedback to people. As a thinker, it's easy for you to see what needs to improve, but be sure to take the time to tell people what's working well.
β
AS A THINKER, YOU...
Are analytical and great at problem-solving.
Need to prioritize listening and being empathetic in social interactions.
Work best in smaller social situations where there's more space to go deep. (Dinner parties, coffee meetings, meetups etc.)
Value solving problems. This means you need to work harder at letting people express their feelings.

Most of my clients are Thinkers (and sometimes OVERthinkers)!
β
Typically Thinkers need help formulating a social gameplan and taking rapid action.
β
I love helping Thinkers come up with "social processes" so that they can think less during social situations and focus on rapidly adapting to the current situation.
β
My private coaching clients are usually technically skilled, and that's helped them play at a high level. But they realize that just being technically skilled is not enough.
β
They have bigger ambitions for their lives and careers.
β
βThey know that the next step in both their personal and professional lives is to work on their people skills and charisma so that they can 10x their results.
